Simple testing method for refrigeration chips
The operation method is: hold both sides of the cooling plate with one hand, and press the wires of the cooling plate onto the two poles of the battery with the other hand(Press the red line on the positive electrode and the black line on the negative electrode)If you can feel one side slightly cold and the other slightly hot, it means that the cooling plate is good and can work normally.
The use of refrigeration fins
1. The working state of the refrigeration plate is to cool while heating. During the operation of the refrigeration plate, good heat dissipation must be provided to the heating surface. It is strictly prohibited to power on the refrigeration plate for more than 2 seconds without heat dissipation, which may cause overheating and damage to the buyer at their own risk. The electrification of the refrigeration plate during cold and hot exchange must be carried out after both sides have returned to room temperature (usually taking more than 5 minutes), otherwise it may cause damage to the circuit of the refrigeration plate and rupture of the ceramic panel.
2. When the refrigeration chip is used for cooling, the red wire is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, and the black wire is connected to the negative pole of the power supply. The power supply requires the use of a switching power supply with a ripple factor less than 10%. The ceramic panel with wires welded on it is usually the hot surface. If the red wire is connected to the negative pole of the power supply and the black wire is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, then the cold and hot sides of the cooling plate will be adjusted.
3. Do not turn on the power supply when the heat sink is not installed on the hot surface of the refrigeration plate; Poor heat dissipation on the hot surface can cause the temperature to exceed the maximum temperature of 100 degrees Celsius on the hot surface of the refrigeration fins, resulting in overheating and burnout of the refrigeration fins. Because refrigeration fins use the temperature difference between the hot and cold surfaces for cooling, the lower the temperature of the hot surface, the lower the temperature of the cold surface, and the better the cooling effect.
4. The refrigeration panel is composed of two ceramic panels and semiconductor materials combined by low melting point solder, with low strength and is a fragile material. Part 3: Indicate the number of layers (stages) of the refrigeration fins, represented by an Arabic numeral. The number of layers of the refrigeration fins ranges from 1 to 6, and the more layers there are, the greater the temperature difference.
Part 4: Indicate the logarithm of the thermocouple of the refrigeration plate (the number of P and N nodes), represented by three Arabic numerals, such as 127 pairs.
Part 5: Indicate the allowable large temperature difference current value of the refrigeration unit, represented by two Arabic numerals. For example, 06 represents 6A current, which is the maximum current under the condition of high heat dissipation when the maximum voltage is applied. When the temperature of the refrigeration component increases, the current value will decrease.
Part 6: Indicate the state of the outer surface of the cooling plate using English letters not exceeding two digits. The absence of a metalized layer is not indicated. A single-sided metalized layer is represented by T, while a double-sided metalized layer is represented by TT.
The practical application of refrigeration fins
In practical applications, the 127 series (i.e. 127 pairs of thermocouple pairs) refrigeration fins are generally loaded with a voltage of 12V. For example, TEC1-12706 has a limit voltage of thermocouple pairs * 0.12, which is 127 * 0.12 ≈ 15.4V. The normal operating voltage is about 78% of the limit voltage, which is 15.4 * 78%=12V. The operating current at normal operating voltage is about 78% of the maximum allowable current value, which is 6 * 78% ≈ 4.7A. As the voltage decreases, the current also decreases. The higher the temperature of the radiator on the hot surface of the refrigeration fins, the lower the current; The approximate cooling power of a refrigeration plate is equal to the logarithm of the thermocouple multiplied by the maximum allowable current value multiplied by 0.07, which equals 127 * 6 * 0.07 ≈ 53W. The temperature difference and utilization rate of the refrigeration plate in practical applications are approximately 60% to 70% of the theoretical value. The heat generation of the refrigeration plate is the sum of its power and cooling capacity, so the utilization rate of the refrigeration plate exceeds 100% when heated.
